Frontline is one of the most recognized and high quality drugs which have been used for quite some time. for cats is basically made to protect the kittens of the age of 8 weeks, and it is prescribed to be used with care as the skin of the pet can react to the ingredients present in the drug. If there is a reaction or complication, the pet should be taken to the doctor immediately.

Frontline Plus is the kind of drug which is a spot application. The ingredients have the capability to kill eggs and larvae of the fleas within 24 hours of application. It also checks the growth of the fleas and protects the host from any unwanted damage.

Frontline Plus is a quality drug. Usually in cats, the drug is prescribed for the kittens. The ingredients keep the kittens active and responsive towards the drug and permit the drug to react in the quickest time.

Frontline Plus is applied with the help of the applicator. Because the product is flammable, extra precautions should be taken in order to store the drug in a cool and safe place away from heat and combustive material.

Frontline Plus is the drug which is not very expensive, when we compare the results and the comfort it gives to the pet, as there is no substitute to comfort. One should select the drug as the ideal killer, in case of attack on the pet. Another glaring advantage, which makes the drug stand out, is that the drug is waterproof. It is therefore ideally suited for pets that can swim, and the usage is generally on a monthly basis for kittens who are 8 weeks of age and older.

The drug is not dangerous, but the on spot application makes it serious for the one who is applying it. The application of the drug should be done with care, and reaction of the pet should be noted. Because in cases when the pet reacts to the drug, it may become necessary to carry the kitten to the doctor without delay.

The feedback which is present in the market is again highly appreciative, and many people are comfortable with the use of Frontline Plus on their pets as the drug is not dangerous. The health of the pet is important, and the recovery rate is fast. Within 24 hours, one can see the changes which are likely to take place. Frontline Plus is widely used, and the drug is recommended for cats and dogs. Fleas can't even think of attacking the pets, while Frontline Plus is in use. Also, one should spend in the name of the comfort of the pet and buy Frontline Plus as early as possible.

Cat Care: Fleas & Parasites : What Does Advantage for Cats Kill?

Under mounting pressure from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Bayer Corporation suspended the sale of its hugely profitable drug Trasylol in November 2007.

A blood clotting drug used during heart surgery to control bleeding, Trasylol was given to more than four and a half million people worldwide. About one and a half million Americans received Trasylol during its 14 year run on the US market.

Studies found that patients who received Trasylol during heart bypass, heart valve replacement and other cardiac surgery were more likely to die than patients who received other available blood clotting drugs. Deaths were due to heart failure, kidney failure, heart attacks and strokes the patients suffered after surgery.

In 2007, Bayer designed a major Canadian trial to show that Trasylol was better than other drugs in controlling bleeding. The trial was terminated, however, because of an increase in deaths among cardiac surgery patients using the drug. Patients receiving Trasylol had a 50 percent increased risk of dying compared with patients receiving other drugs.

What's a few thousand deaths among friends?

60 Minutes reported in February 2008 that Bayer had known about Trasylol's safety concerns for decades and about the abnormally high incidents of deaths associated with the drug since 2006. Yet Bayer continued aggressive marketing of the drug, raking in well over $300 million annually. The FDA permitted Trasylol to stay on the market, contributing to an estimated 1,000 deaths a month for the 22 months before its recall.

The 60 Minutes report went on to describe Bayer's own internal study evaluating

the risk of patient deaths from Trasylol. Medical records of nearly 70,000 patients

were examined by a Harvard professor who was placed on the Bayer payroll.

What the professor found was that patients given Trasylol had an elevated risk

of acute renal failure.

Bayer concealed this study from the FDA during a safety review of Trasylol in

2006. The drug giant further charmed the FDA into allowing Trasylol to

stay on the market. More than a year passed before the FDA got around to

reviewing the adverse effects of Trasylol again. Finally, the FDA recalled the drug

but imposed no fine or penalty on Bayer.

What does this have to do with fleas & ticks on dogs and cats?

Another way Bayer works wonders is with its insecticide Imidacloprid, the active

ingredient in Advantage Flea & Tick treatment for dogs and cats. Laboratory test

results on file with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency show Imidicloprid

to be neurotoxic to dogs and other laboratory animals, also causing a breakdown

of coordination, labored breathing, reduced birth weight, increased birth defects,

and lesions of the thyroid.

Of course, Bayer has remained silent as a stalactite about these adverse health

effects on our precious pets. Could this be yet another 60 Minutes report in the

making?

Sooner or later, responsible dog lovers and cat lovers need to ask themselves

the question, Am I trusting the big drug companies too much with the safety of

my best friends? Sooner or later you need to ask yourself whether toxic

chemicals are really necessary when safe and natural flea & tick treatments are

readily available.

What's my advice? You can't ask the questions too soon, but you can ask them

too late.

?Advantage? Flea Cats ? the Right Solution
Cat ringworm is contagious to other animals and people. There are natural remedies readily available for cats if you do not wish to use commercial products. New medications are available for people.

I remember as a child having contracted ringworm. It was a pinkish-reddish ring about one inch in size scattered on my left forearm, the right side of my face, and on both legs.

I remember itching and scratching. It was contracted from another infected person or pet, sharing personal items, or being around moist environments like shower stalls.

My mother had applied gentian violet once or twice a day to the different areas of my body. I looked like a purple spotted creature. Other children asked what was wrong with me.

Can you remember a time when gentian violet was the choice medicine for fungus and bacteria? I do not see it in use today, as many people are not familiar with this medicine. Nowadays, your doctor will prescribe an antifungal cream or an oral medication.

If you have experienced ringworm, its appearance and symptoms are the same for cats. Cats get ringworm from direct contact with other infected humans, cats, or droppings around rats or other burrowing animals. We can control its spread using natural remedies for cats.

This fungus can also be contracted from grooming equipment or the environment such as contaminated carpet, furniture, and bedding.

As you examine your cat you will see a circular patch of hair loss or gray patches of baldness. You may also see dry flaky skin or dandruff. The ringworm seems to be more common in longhaired cats. The fungus attaches itself to the hair and outer layers of skin, as well as in the claws.

Unfortunately, the fungus attaches itself to cats usually less than one year of age. The thinking is that the immune system is not quite developed to ward off this type of infection. The infection can last as long as thirteen months.

You will be very busy cleaning and decontaminating the cat and its environment with soap and water as well as bleach. You will need to bathe your cat in shampoos and dips. You will want to see the vet to get an antifungal. If severe you may wish to consider your cat receiving a ringworm vaccination.

Fortunately, ringworm can be cured and if you need more natural remedies for cats information take a look at the pet section of Tricia Deed at http://www.infotrish.vpweb.com/ and review Time Tested Home Remedies That Heal Your Pet!
